lost slave

After the second installation of windows 2000 the slave
drive does not read and tells me the disk is not formatted.
Windows 2000 is installed on a seperate drive, after the
first installation the slave drive read fine then when I
installed win 2000 again the slave drive no longer
worked. I think it has something to do with missing or
changed windows2000 files or so I have gathered thus far.
Please Help, I need access to my slave (backup drive)
Thanks in advance!!!

So you are dual booting with two Win2K installations?

When you boot up the machine, go into the BIOS and see if both drives are
listed as detected.

The Bios sees the drive fine, like I said I had acess to
the drive before the second installation of windows 2000,
meaning a clean install after formatting master drive
which is installed on a completely different drive, the
slave has win2000 no where on it, its not dual boot of the
same OS, it just doesn't work and tells me the disk needs
to be formatted as oppose to before it was just fine, I
didn't write nor even delete anything on that slave drive
when I had access to it the first time!!
