Lost shortcuts in Navigation pane

I've had Outlook 2003 some time now, and I really appreciate the new
navigation pane.

But 3 times I've experienced something really frustrating: suddenly all my
shortcuts are gone!

Any explanation, and: how can I get them back? A work-around is of course
to take a backup of the registry key that holds this information. What
registry key is this?

I forgot to mention that all of the navigation panes (not only the
shortcut pane) are set back to default.
