Lost product key

Hello:

I have the orginal CD for Powerpoint 97 that our
organization purchesed several years ago. I work for the
provincial government and we havea somehow lost or
misplaced the product key to this software.

How can I recover the product key as we have a new laptop
and need this software installed. Purchasing new software
is not an option.

If you have the old computer still running there is a way to search the
registry key and get it,but I don't really remember what to search for.
Maybe registry key or product key, just have to make sure you get the
correct one for powerpoint
(this may have been included if you have small business edition or another
edition, unless you purchased powerpoint as a stand alone
