If you hit PrtScn and didn't paste the contents of the clipboard to either
Windows Paint or a Word document (even notepad, WordPad, MS Word) the the
contents of the screenshot have disappeared.
Once you press PrtScn the contents of the screen capture re stored on the
clipboard ready for you to paste into another document or graphics
application for editing.
For screenshots I personally use an application called SnagIt (sadly it
isn't free). This is a far superior way of taking, editing and saving
screenshots.
