Log into the hidden administartor account and use user accounts in the
control panel to reset/change your users password.

You don't say if you're using XP Home or Pro.

For Pro, with no other users logged in, press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice at the
welcome screen. Enter Administrator, and whatever password you may have
set, if any, on this built in account. You can then access the User
Accounts applet and set a new password.

For XP Home, you must boot the computer into Safe Mode (press F8 between the
BIOS screen and Windows starting up). You'll see the built in Administrator
account on the Welcome Screen.

.
You might have to "reset your CMOS", which is a switch on
your motherboard, check with your manufacture specs of
your computer brand, and look for LOST or FORGOTTEN
PASSWORD setup, its a matter of changing a switch on your
motherboard, rebooting, chaning the swith back and your
home, but each computer has it located in a different
place, but look at your paticular brand, mine is IBM, and
its on the lower right hand side of my mother board.
