I changed my settings to activate the built in firewall in WINXP home and found that my connection to my office workgroup was lost. As soon as I deactivated the firewall, I had access again. Do I need to change another setting to maintain the firewall and still have access to the workgroup? Thank you for inforamtion regarding this issue

The firewall is only for a direct internet connection, i.e., computer to
modem to internet.

What you are experiencing is normal. ICF is, as staed in the help, for use
on a computer directly connected to the Internet and will interfere with
LAN communications.
