Lost messages in sent file

Sometime, not all, when I send, forward a message to someone the message does
not end up in the sent folder. I have checked the tools>Options>Send and have
assured the first box is checked that sends all sent messages to the send box.
What could be the problem or solution?

What email client?
Wha version of said email client?
I could assume - but that is a pretty big key in helping you out. ;-)

If you're using OE, it can start to behave strangely if the DBX files get
overly large.

Not sure what you mean by e-mail client, but if you mean the server it is
Charter.net.
I am using Outlook Express 6.
