Just installed a new motherboard and cpu... need my
install disk as XP is freaking out and not booting up
(happened the last time I did this as well). All I can
seem to find online are numbers to call if I want to order
new products or get tech support (of which you only ever
get two free calls). I don't need either of these... is
there a number out there I can call to get a replacement
disk for my XP Pro? I have my ID number and all that...
just moved recently and can't find the disk anywhere. Any
help is greatly appriciated.

If your Windows XP is a retail copy, then for replacing lost etc software
check here:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[ln];326246

Don

When you go to that page, which I had done before, it just
directs you to the generic serive page for windows xp, if
you need to replace the disk. I don't want to use up one
of my two free service calls on asking about replacing the
disk, it's not like it's a tech support issue.
