Lost Favorites

Just installed AntiSpyware beta1 V1.0.615 after initial
scan found "I Lookup,GlobalWebSearch(Browser Modifier)
defined as a Severe Threat.
Action Recmmended was to Remove, that I did.
Well, all infected files included most of my Favorites
sites!!!
Many sites included secure sites such as financial
institutions I use regularly.
Question, is this normal?, seems quite a Draconian move,
will accept it if was really a threat but
thanks

Try these steps:

1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> type in ->
command)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without
the quotes).
3) Close and re-open Windows AntiSpyware

David - I think they are gone unless you quarantined rather than removed, or
have a backup.

There's a file--cleaner.log--located in \program files\microsoft antispyware
which might be able to tell us a bit more:

I'm guessing that you had your favorites carefully organized and that those
lost were under a particular folder.

The crucial bit of information here is the name of that folder.

There are a number specific folder names which are removed as part of
threats.
