Don

I was moving new emails into individual files that I created in Outlook 2007
and accidentally dropped one email into the main "Personal Folders" file. Is
there a way to get this email back or is it lost forever? Why would it allow
you to do this if you can't figure out how to get it back? Should I suggest
something be done about this in the next release?

If you drag and drop an email into a Personal Folders file, then it is in
the Personal Folders file. Have you searched the Personal Folders?

Can you do an Undo Move? Outlook 2007 for example, Edit-->Undo Move.
Otherwise, a simple search if you know a property of the message?

Thanks for the tip, the search of ALL of the personal folders had it show up
in it. I did this once many years ago and couldn't remember how I got it
back. It is really hard when you drop it by accident in the main "Personal
Folders" file because you can't see it unless you do the search.

Thanks again..

If you do that again, another method is to uncheck the "Home Page" option in
Personal Folders properties....

Thanks for that helpful tip. All these years I jsut thought they were
totally lost. I had done it again today, so unchecked the homepage view and
there they were. about 40 of them actually from the last year.
Much appreciated tip.
