lost E Mails and addresses

Anybody help
My old computer recently literally "blew up", which
prompted me to buy a new computer with xp home. I have
taken the old hard drive and added it to my new computer
for more storage space... it was xp professional by the
way. My problem is that all my old E Mails and Addresses
were stored on my old drive and I have been trying to
retrieve them. Unfortunately I cant access my personal file
which was in the Documents and Settings folder. When I try
to access it, it says Access denied. I did have a password
on it though. I can access my wife's files but these
weren't protected.
I have tried the outlook wizard but cant get past the
"Your name" part
of the following path.......
F:\Documents and Settings\Your_Name\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

I have tried different recommended ideas but Whatever I try
i cant get past "my name" its always access denied"

Is there any way I can access the file to retrieve the
..pst/dbx files. I have tried searching but cant find the
files. Also when I put the cursor over "my name" Folder in
Docs and Settings it says the folder is empty which it cant be.
regards
Philip Coates

Can you copy the .PST file to your new computer's hard drive? If you can,
first make sure it's not marked read only, then try opening it within
Outlook, using File | Open | Outlook Data File.
