Lost document downloaded from email which I saved somewhere

I pulled a document from my email and hit open instead of save. I worked on
the document for hours, hitting save along the way. I closed Word to allow
our IT person to update Norton on my computer. I went to open the document
and realized I did not save it somewhere specific. I believe it was saved in
a temporary file after trying to save another file opened from my email. Our
IT person said these files are deleted when you close the document and/or IE.

Please help. My term paper is due in 24 hours and I was just finishing up. I
have searched and cannot find it.

Thank you. We did try this but it was not there. Bad decision on my part as
I know better. I followed your websites direction but the strange thing is
there is no folder titled "Temporary Internet Files;" however, at some point
in my search yesterday I did see that folder when trying to open the .doc
through word I believe. Any idea why that folder isn't even there when I
follow your instructions?

Thank you for your help - there are tons of other things saved out there but
of course not the one thing I needed :)

Thanks

Set Explorer Tools > Folder Options > View to show hidden files and folders
and try again. I get so used to setting this option as a matter of course
that I forget others may not. I will add that to the web site for future
