Lost Data after repair install

Alright right now I had enough of Windows XP. Today was
an all time low.

I had to do a repair install because of a missing file
(safe mode or a boot disk wasn't working). I knew I'd
lose SP2. I can handle that.

After doing the repair install I lost almost everything.
1/2 my programs are lost, all my music/docs/ files are
gone. Those were critical files and I need them back.

Is there a data restore program to get them back?

P.S. Yes I looked in system restore, but it only had one
restore time and that was AFTER the repair install.

Hi Adam,

A repair installation, done properly, would not cause a loss of existing
data and programs. Not sure what you did at this point, but an undelete
utility may help with the lost files. This one here works quite well for
basic file recovery:
