I have lost the connection (dial up)window when I launch
internet explorer. We I do get a connection connected and
I close internet explorer I don't get the window asking
me if I want to close the internet connection. This does
work just fine when I open Outlook Express and hit send
and receive - connection window opens... and when I close
the application I get the "auto disconnect" window asking
if I want to close the internet connection. I have
verified the connections under "Tools"/ "Internet
Connections" tab and it is set to dial my default
connection. This all came about when I right clicked on
the connection icon in the tray to close the connection
without closing the browser... How can I get this to work
again with internet explorer? Thank you

You may have another application wanting to keep the connection alive?

IE>tools>internet options>connections>dial up & virtual private network
section, settings>dial up settings, advanced, put a checkmark in disconnect
if connection no longer required, apply/ok your way out.
You will need to make a new connection to the net to get it to operate.
