lost all icons on desk top. help...

Hi,
since updating my windows xp, and my virus protection yesterday i have lost
all my desk top icons.
how do i get back, pls help

It happened to me this morning. I called Sony tech asst.
Try hitting control escape.

Problem maybe in the exploer.exe file. Do you have
a program that can be run in c:\ to see if that
file is there or if the ext was changed. I think
the path is C:\windows\explorer.exe.

I'm not sure if the above will work for you but it
is a start and something you could ask about on one
of the other bulletin boards.

Try this...
(win XP)

Right Click in Desktop
Click Arrange Icons By
Make sure 'Show desktop Icons is Checked'
If it is not thenm click it to make icons appear
