lost addresses in detect and repair

I had an error message. In order to fix it the help screen said to go to
detect and repair and reset the settings to the default. In doing so it
erased all my saved addresses (which it never indicated it would or I would
never have done.) Anyway is there any way I can recover them???
Please help!

What do you mean? Do you mean your Contacts Folder?
What about your other Outlook data?

Yes I mean my contacts folder. I lost all email files but can live without
those if I can't recover. I'm especially concerned about the contacts.

Detect and repair never touches your Outlook data. It is still on your hard
drive. It may have created a new profile with a new data file, but you can
easily search for and open your old Outlook data.
The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the
mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.
