Vista upgrade 01-09-2009, using Outlook 2003. 1 complete folder totally gone.
Scanned .pst and says all OK. No it's not, it has still gone.
In blind faith tried a system restore, knew it wouldn't but tried anyway.
Looked in obvious (recycle bin) just in case - nope!
any suggestions please.

Outlook folder full of emails. Not been moved to another folder, or in
Recycle Bin.

Just to clarrify situation :-
Outlook still there and works,
1 of around 100 of the sub-folders has gone totally when there was an auto
update.

Just to clarify matters,
Outlook 2003 works as normal,
1 of around 100 of the sub-folders has gone missing totally,
This was during the latest Vista update.

That's pretty odd. The "folders" are contained within the .pst file.
Pretty hard for a Vista update to selectively remove a section of a PST
file. I'd say pure co-incidence in timing. I would start looking for
that folder being contained within another folder, or someone actually
deleted or moved it.

There is no way a Windows update can possibly delete one folder in Outlook.
You are misinterpreting the cause. What Navigation Pane view are you using?
If you use the Folder List view (Ctrl-6), do any of your folders have a
subfolder you don't expect? Expand all folders and look to see if your
"missing" folder was accidentally moved to another folder.
