Loss of resolution when exporting slides

I have some digital phoos which look great in a PowerPoint 2002 presentation
but when I use Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 to convert to a slideshow or DVD,
the resulting pictures are not near as sharp. Is there a way to maintain the
high resolution of the original PP slides and export it out to a DVD?
Alternatively, is increasing the RAM on my computer the only option to make a
really large (i.e. 1 G) ppt presentation using hihg quality digital images?
THANKS!

If you are referring to a DVD (as in a home dvd player connected to a tv),
then the resolution will always drop in quality as a DVD is only approx 720
lines (pixels)....
