Loss of IE connection after MS upgrades

I installed 14 upgrades on Oc 15 that were down loaded automatically by
Norton security. After installing and rebooting, connection of all programs
to the Internet were lost. Was this due to an Internet Explorer upgrade?
What do I need to do to restore my connection? This request was entered from
an alternative computer location.
