Losing Columns on Subreport

Access 2003. I created a report that contains a subreport in the Detail
section. I open the subreport in a separate window in design mode. I set
the subreport page layout to have three (3) columns. I test it and the three
columns show. I save the subreport and return to the main report. When I
run the main report, the subreport displays only a single column. When I go
back into design on the subreport, the column setting has been changed back
to one (1). However, the column width setting is still 2" as I set it to be.
WHY WOULD MY SUBREPORT'S COLUMNS SETTING BE RESET TO 1 FROM 3? Thanks for
the help.

I found a solution in another post (Duane Hookum). When the columns are set
to display down then across, I have the problem. When I set the display
order to across then down, the columns in the subreport display properly.
This setting is found in File>Page Setup>Columns Tab. Thanks.

Setting the columns in the subform to display across then down solves the
problem. This setting is changed using File>Page Setup>Columns Tab while in
design on the subreport. I got this tip from another post in this forum by
Duane Hookum. Thanks.
