Loosing Zero's in front of number

randy beach

I am trying to make a list of numbers that Has only 6 digits (000006
and not loose the zero's when I hit enter. Is there a way to limit th
number of digits in the number set and when I enter 78 or somethin
similar so it would drop the 0 of the left side to maintain the 6 digi
length

Format the cell(s) using Format/Cells. Take the number tab and then choose Custom Format, usually
at the bottom of the list. Type 000000 in the custom format box. then click OK. Numbers should now
appear with 6 digits in the formatted cells
