case: copy text from internet. Open new email in Microsoft Outlook. Try to
past the text into the email. Nothing gets copied. How to get the text to
be still available for "paste"?
Thanks,
Eva

Some Outlook add-ons may accidentally disable the copy/paste
functionality. Start Outlook in Safe Mode (outlook.exe /SAFE), and see
if the problem disappears.

Pat,

The problem continued. However in some cases it did paste. It looks like
the action of clicking on "new" activates the system to copy (image not
text). Clicking anywhere even without selecting "copy" puts images into
Outlook clipboard.

What is the problem?

Thanks,
Eva

Eva,

Sorry, this is a behavior of Outlook I've never heard of. Some add-ons
may disable copy&paste completely, but this is different.

The only suggestion to try at this moment is to delete the Outlook
profile and create a new one. This sometimes cures the oddest problems.

Pat,

I just figured out what was the problem. I have a new Acer laptop. Acer
comes with AcerEmpowering Technology. The source of my problem was Acer
eDataSecurityManagement. This Acer utility plugged an add-in into my
Microsoft Outlook. When I was clicking on "new" to create a new email, this
add-in was activated and 3 icon images were copied into the clipboard. When
I was trying to paste the text that I copied previously, these icons were
"blocking" the text, because they were in the clipboard.

I removed the Acer add-in,by going to Tools/Options/Other/Advanced and COM
Add-Ins. That fixed my problem. The Acer add-in was to provide encription
for data, however it's impact on copy/paste functionality made the Acer
functionality useless.

Thanks for your help,

Eva
