Loose German format when Imported

When I import data from a text file the German Font information is lost and
replaced by squares. Is there any way to retain the font information from
the text file?
 
This is usually a code page issue. As you import the data, click the
Advanced button in the text import wizard. The resulting dialog lets you
select a code page to use for the import; try the likely-looking ones.

Another possible cause is using a different font in Access from the one
used to view the text file.
