lookup help please

Hi

The lookup seem not to work it the first column in text, can any one
help please,

=LOOKUP(B20,A1:H17,H1:H17) if B20 is text and # , and it was a
reference of a cell in column A , this would work if column A was
numbers and not text.

Try the following...

=VLOOKUP(B20,A1:H17,8,0)
