Lookup for worksheet name

Does anyone know if there is a possibility to make a reference in
formula to one of a number of worksheets, depending on a value which
enter?

For example:

If cell A1 has the text content"Sheet 1", take thevalue of Cell B23 i
Worksheet 1, if cell A1 has the value "Sheet 2", take teh value of cel
B23 in Worksheet 2.
