lookup feature

Just bring up the table in design mode.

select the field you want to change.

Down below, note the "lookup" tab.

Just change the "display control" to Text box....

that is it....

If you don't delete the rowsource, it stays there until after the database
is compacted. If you change the field back to combo box, even after it's
saved, the rowsource will return. It is as if Access doen't believe you when
you say you want to get rid of the lookup field. I prefer to delete the
rowsource, so that I know it's gone for good.

Hum....

In fact, just changing thee control back to a text box does NOT remove the
lookup (I thought it did!!).

So,...yes....you better remove the sql, and it is well good that you point
this out....

so...a good catch point on your part!
