Lookup Excel Table

I've linked an Excel table, but cannot create a lookupfrom another table. I
keep getting the message, "you entered an expression that has an invalid
reference to the property |. To my knowledge, I haven't used | for a
property. Help!!
 
What do you mean by "lookupfrom another table"?
Post the code you are trying to use, please.
