Looking For The Best New Monitor

I am looking for a new monitor for my PC as the old monitor just bit
the dust. I want a monitor that is about 21" - 25" diagonal. It
could be either a flat screen or the old fashioned crt type.

I would like any opinions I can get on which type of monitor (flat /
crt) is best. I do a lot of graphics work on my PC, but very little
gaming.

Which monitor manufacturer/model is the very best in terms of
resolution, color rendition, long lifetime, etc?

The Samsung 214t LCD monitor should be good when it comes out
next month. Probably $600. 21" LCD.
