Looking for the administrative template to configure BITS policy in Windows 2000 server GPO editor..

Hi,

I need to configure BITS on my AD in order to allow windows update services
to use the efficiently tho low bandwidth available to remote branches. My AD
domain controller is Win2K, clients are XP. I want to create GPOs for
branches. But the Win2K GPO editor doesn't include the BITS policies. I
suppouse it should be an administrative template to add to GPO editor (like
it was needed to add wsus.adm to configure WSUS) to configure BITS policies.
But I can't find where to download this template.

Does anybody knows where can I find this template?

Thanks in advance
Sammy

Did you get every NG or did you missed one?
F´up2 microsoft.public.windows.group_policy
[BITs] My AD domain controller is Win2K, clients are XP.

Just edit the GPO from a XP station. Easiest way: install GPMC.

Or just make a copy+paste from a XPSP2 system.adm (search for "bits")
take the whole category, called "CATEGORY !!BITS" and remove the
"if version ..." and "end if" lines.
Aswell take all lines from the [strings] section which are mentioned
as !!something inside the CATEGORY !!BITS

Put them in a seperate file, name it e.g. bits.adm and import it.
Because of the removed "if version" lines you can "see" them in the
W2K GPeditor.

But I think using GPMC from a XP is the most efectiv way, because
thats the only way to control all settings inside XP, without that
copy+paste and removing if ...
