I'm looking for a few programs, would someone here please be kind
enough to help me.

I would like some programs that I can add to a thumb drive. I need
them to leave no trace, no footprint at all on the computers I use
them on. No registry entries, no MRU, no entries in my recent
documents, indext.dat, no .ini files that are/have to be stored on
the hard drive, no other form of tracking.

These are the programs that I am looking for

Audio Player - the more formats it can handle the better
Email program for sending emails. It's own SMTP server would be nice.
Picture Viewer - the more formats it can handle the better
Newsreader -
Text Viewer - on that can handle 5mb files
Video Player - the more formats it can handle the better

Thank You

A difficult premise. It can be done, but only deliberately so. Even
programs which are standalone single executable files, having no other
need for adjunct files such as .DLL, etc. will always be registered
(harmlessly) as having been used, and where it was executed from (the
drive assigned to your USB drive). Such programs are often called
'portables' because they are standalone and need no support files.
To erase any trace of your having been there, a deliberate batch or
program would need to be fashioned to cause a Registry Editor program
to deal with such entries, and then to 'Avalanche" shutdown the
computer instantly, and even then such shut-down program evidence
might still be present in Registry.

Now, having said the above, you still might be able to accomplish
something in a real DOS session IF the computer is set-up to recognize
your USB Thumbdrive in a DOS Session, and you have a DOS registry
editing program (yes, they exist, but this is horrendously dangerous).
In this DOS case, with Windows being nowhere on the planet, you could
manipulate the USER.DAT file at will and truly leave no trace. I DO
NOT RECOMMEND THIS. IT IS NOT A JOB FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED LAY USER.

Ever consider one of the "live" Linux CD's such as Mepis, Knoppix or
Ubuntu? Wouldn't leave tracks on a windoze box - generally very capable
software choices for just about all functions.

Actually yes. I like and use Knoppix from time to time, mostly for
data recovery or when I have to use an Internet Cafe. I just don't
know that much about Linux systems to do what I want. I was looking
to use UBCD4Windows http://www.ubcd4win.com/ as my boot CD. It's
something I'm familiar with. I need/want to surf, download, upload,
edit files, handle sensitive files etc from some work computers to my
laptop. Everything from text files to media files. My plan is to..

Bring laptop to work
Boot laptop using UBCD4Windows
Open TrueCrypt container on desktop
Open TrueCrypt container on laptop
Download, upload, edit files etc from one TrueCrypt container to the
other.
Close out TrueCrypt containers and go home.

This way there is no trace in MRU's, recetly changed or anything that
shows what I changed and when it was changed. Well, the TrueCrypt
container will show as been changed but I can give that any file
extenstion I want. So it could be made to look like a corrupt movie
file or audio file, which we all know is something that happens from
time to time.
