I am new here, a mechanical engineer and I have a project I have been working on.
I am developing an excel add-in that will have specific controls in a new tab in the ribbon.
In one section I have a dropdown, I want to populate the items in the dropdown from an external file, it can be an excel file or a text file.
The second part of of this project is to have a series of templates in excel, lets say individual excel files or tabs on a workbook.
the third part, is that wen an item is selected in the dropdown list, the template associated with it is opened up.
The fourth part is the template will be populated with data from and external source like a csv file or a SQL database.
right now All I want to do is to get the first three parts done then I can worry about populating the data into the sheet.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
