I'm working on database that a non-profit org purchased from a 3rd party.
The design was made for one specific company and then sold out to others
without much for customization. The database has a table called tGift
Transactions for donations. The non-profit already had a program to track
donations, but needed to track volunteer hours. So the 3rd party suggested
they use the donations table to track that instead. In this case, they did
not customize the table at all so the non-profit is tracking time in a
currency field. I'm by no means a seasoned developer, but I can't imagine
that as a solution. Am I missing something? Is there a reason why they
wouldn't have just changed the field type? Or is it not as big of a deal as
I'm thinking?
Thanks!
