Hi,

Does anyone know of a MDI image viewer? One that when you open up a
number of image files, rather than opening each one in a new window,
it opens them all up in the one window, one image per tab?

Thanks.

Photofiltre can do that.

Thanks Rili and Curt for your replies. I've just tried XnView, but it
seems to have a bug with opening files from paths with spaces in their
names (eg c:\Program Files) from my newsreader (Agent 3.0) - problem
because Agent stores it's temp files in \Program Files. So, I will
have to give PhotoFiltre a try - hope it hasn't got the same bug. I
normally use IrfanView for all my media - and it works fine in Agent
(no bug with spaces), but Agent is the one program I specifically want
MDI (which IrfanView hasn't got) for.

Oh crap-on-a-stick. I spoke too soon - PhotoFiltre has the exact same
bug in Agent :-(

FWIW, that sounds more like an Agent bug than a photo editor one.

Why not just change the directory that Agent stores files in ?

Hm, it's hard to tell. IrfanView works fine in this situation, just
not XnView or PhotoFiltre. Anyway, after a bit of experimentation, I
found the way to make it work was to put "C:\Program
Files\XnView\xnview.exe" "%1" in the Agent options, rather than just
the "C:\Program Files\XnView\xnview.exe" I had been putting. The %1
reflects what is stored in the Windows associations - but why you need
to put it a second time (in Agent itself), and why IrfanView doesn't
need it is a mystery. Anyway, it works finally, so I'm a happy camper
:-)

And to John who suggested I change the place Agent put's its temp
files, I was going to try that, but I couldn't find any way to
actually do it - so I kept on experimenting to see if I could get it
to work as is.

Agent 3.0.

Folder - Default Properties - Attachment Folders ?
