Looking for file

When I open excel (97 using XP home) it comes up with a
window saying a document is not found. I usually just
cancel out and proceed to open another document or start
a new one. My question is how do I stop excel from
looking for a document at start-up?
 
Try Tools|Addins.

(Keep track of which addins are checked)

uncheck any of the checked ones.

One of them may (should??) come back with a message that it can't be found.

You'll be prompted to delete it from the list. (answer Yes)

Make sure you leave the rest of the addins checked the way you like.
