Looking for Content Management tool for end users

Hi Everyone,

I have a web site that is largely based in .NET technologies, but also
has a fair amount of classic ASP.

I'm looking for a tool to give to end users to manage content. This
tool must be able to recognize .aspx and .asp pages (along with basic
..htm & .html pages, AND also recognize .ascx pages as well as Server
Side Includes to automatically display the placeholders of user
controls & shared content in WYSIWYG mode.

We've used Dreamweaver a bit, but I don't like the way the templates
work by replicating the shared content into each page. I didn't like
that in Frontpage's "Webbot Includes" either. Also, Dreamweaver tends
to not 'play nice' with Visual Studio.NET.

Can anyone suggest a solid tool for end users to do content management?

Thanks,

Scott Shuster

Did you evaluate Macromedia's Contribute? Optimized for use with DMX of
course but is said to be useable with content generated by FrontPage as
well.

It seems to me that Microsoft has been too busy developing proprietary
crippleware such as InfoPath and OneNote to be much concerned with what
customers actually need: content management. We -- Microsoft platform
users -- are way behind the curve.

I don't anything about .Net yet, but a better solution than an HTML
editor like DW or FP is to host a CMS on the server, and provide a
rich input interface based on JavaScript like HTMLArea so that users
can type and format their articles themselves in a web browser.
