I am looking for non-branded clipart of symbols for drawing data network
topologies in Powerpoint, e.g. routers, bridges, hubs, etc. I need to make
about five diagrams but do not have the expertise to draw the usual network
symbols from first principles.

Have you looked into packages like Visio or SmartDraw? They offer shapes for
this type of equipment and give you a whole lot more built-in smarts than plain
clip art would.
