Looking for a "quiet" mouse.

I have a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 2 at the moment, not a bad
mouse at all except for the clicking sound. I've tested out a couple of
other mice such as the Logitech MX1000 and they all have this annoying
clicking sound. TBH, it doesn't really bother me that much but I think
my neighbours can hear the clicking esp late at night. I think they're
starting to retaliate by dropping things on the ground!!!
Anyhoo, I was just wondering if there is such a thing as a mouse that
doesn't make such a clicking noise. I've been looking on the interweb
and it appears the human race has not accomplished such a feat.

any thoughts?

Are your walls really so thin that your neighbours can hear a mouse click??
You do mean the click the mouse itself makes when you press the buttons?
I've got a MX1000 and you can barely hear it being pressed from more than a
few feet away, let alone in another room.
Have you asked your neighbours if they can hear it? I bet they can't.

As far as I know, all mice do. Try a touchpad.
