Looking for a good large TFT display

I would like to replace my 19" CRT with a TFT display.

I use a TFT at work and prefer the clarity of the display to my CRT at home.

I have an ATI 9600 Pro graphics card with DVI output so I would ideally like
a monitor with DVI input. Does this make much difference?

I mostly use Office apps (Word mostly, some XL and PowerPoint) and Web
searching/browsing. Plus PDF reading. A little gaming. Not much. But some
(eg. Doom 3, MechWarrior 4).

Money is tight. Sub-£300 preferred.

Any suggestions? Running Windows XP SP2.

Cheers.

Sorry to disappoint you, but you won't get a decent TFT for under £300 and
especially not one with a response time fast enough for FPS. If you're any
kind of a gamer then I would strongly recommend sticking with a CRT. A cheap
TFT will ghost terribly as it won't be fast enough to keep up with the frame
rates an FPS puts out. Oh there are some, of course, ViewSonic do a very
nice one that PC Format recommended for Doom 3, but it's nearly four times
your budget. You also mention you want it to be large - that, to me, means
17"+. I don't think you'll find one with a response time under 25ms - and
that's about twice what it needs to be for a good gaming monitor.

My advice? Stick with the CRT.

Unless anyone else knows different...

I'll just add that this does make a big difference and I would suggest that
you'd be mad to get a non dvi monitor when you've already got the card.
