F8 at startup and try 'Safe Mode' and or 'Enable boot logging' Registry
cleaners, as a general rule, do more damage than good.

|I upgraded my HP Pavillion to windows 2000 from 98SE and it seems to take a
| very long time to load past this screen. the "bar" at the bottom of the
logo
| screen gets to about the half way point and then the hard drive, etc stops
| for a minute or two before continuing. The program is still running,
since
| the rotating/scrolling bar above is moving the entire time. I have two
other
| PC's using windows 2000 and they do not pause like this.

| I use to have Nortons Antivirus installed, and I think it's hanging up
| (maybe still running some kind of system check) at bootup. But it could
