Look2Me enfarction!

Having the devil of a time trying to remove this root level spyware banner
popping nuisance. No doubt the child clicked yes to the bright letters and
sounds or something like that. Buggers.

Spy Bot and Ad Aware catch it, but won't restart to remove it from memory.
Seems the look2me knows how to OVER-RIDE this function.

So the other option is to stop explorer from my task list, kill the dll's in
windows/system and edit offending keys in reg-edit. Not really working
there. Can't kill Explorer (it's not a running process), can't delete the
key without the key writing itself somewhere else and creating another
pop-up {can't kill explorer}. I deleted the MSGSYS.dll, MSG ***.dll, and
the MSGSYS.EXE.

Didn't do anything. Somebody's burning through whatever karma they got left
in a bad way.

Anyone seen a good fix for this that will work?

I only have WinME, so none of the NT4 2000 XP builds.

I could really use some help.

Man,

I was sweating that big time. I ended up deleting some dll's (including one
too many - messing up Norton AV) but it's gone. Really played havoc at so
many levels.

But I *did* use all these programs, and oddly enough, each one played some
value.

Booted off floppy, crap like that. Just an insanely bad application. I won't
forget it easily.

Thanks again for all the help!!!

You're very welcome. Good work! Glad to hear that you are up and running
properly again. And, that you did use all the programs, as they will ensure
that your system is now clean and free of anything to come back and haunt
you. <g>

Thank you for posting back and letting us know what helped resolve your
problem, and so other readers can benefit as well. :)
