"Look in:" Very Slow to Populate

When opening any of the Microsoft Ofice programs - WORD, POWERPOINT & EXCEL.
When I click 1)"File", 2)"Open" and 3)"Look in:" the program
freezes for about 1 minute before it opens to show the
files.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you. I'll give this a try although I have not received the same error
message they refer to in the article.

It could just be, if you are connected to a network, that it takes a while
for Word to survey it.
