So in Fall 2004 you may still be using an early Beta, so I doubt you
will be saying "Adios XP." just yet.

LOL! That's why no one should let MS Auto Update XP, you just don't
know what will be missing afterwards! ;-)

Well here you are for all those interested. Longhorn has
been leaked at last along with links to NGs and such. Just
do an internet search it's all over. Even microsoft has
links to longhorn bug fixes already. This lays to rest all
those nay sayers who claimed Longhorn would not be out
until 2005 or 6. Like I said almost a year ago fall of
2004 is it.

This is not a beta - it is not even a full alpha. It has a core to
allow developers to try out new interfaces, and not one scrap of new
GUI. Developing that to get to Beta will take *well* into 2004. We
might just about still see a final launch in 2005. which is what people
mean by it being 'out'

Sounded like the original poster thought he had come
across some unknown or unpublished top secret
information, I've seen links to download longhorn months
ago and without all the speculation involved. I've also
read post's from Chris Lanier who somehow has the
patience to help some of the most unbeleivably stupid
questions I've ever read and never a hint of sarcasim
laced in the replies, I agree this is not the place to
post speculation but it was interesting reading for a
change. Fluffy
