logon script says it can't run from UNC directory

Bill

This message appeared recently during logon.

'\\iwafibp.ca\SysVol\iwafibp.ca\Policies\{long SID like
number here}\Scripts\Logon'
CMD.EXE was started with the above path as the current
directory.
UNC paths are not supported. Defaulting to Windows
directory.

Has anyone else encountered a problem where their logon
script stops working unexpectedly? The only thing I can
think of that might have changed, is adding Windows XP
computers to our network.

If anyone knows a way to fix this, or a workaround, that
would be helpful.

Thanks

Does this only happen on the XP machines?
What DNS addresses are you using on the client machines and the DCs?

Can you post the syntax of the script? It sounds like Group Policy is being
applied the the script is beginning. If you replace your script with a
simple Net Use command does that execute properly?
