Logon Script Processing

Guest

I have various NT 4, Windows 2000 and XP clients on my network. Upon logon to the network froma anyone of these clients, the login script processes in the bottom right hand corner of the screen which prohibits me from seeing what steps are being executed during the logon process. I am using Kixtart. Can anyone help me figure out how to fix the window in which the login script executes in from appearing in the bottom right hand corner of the screen? I'd like for my users to see the window and subsequently what is being processed while the script executes

thank

This is a guess.

1. Temporarily place a pause in the script.
2. Have the client right-click the title bar, press properties, and adjust the
size and position of the Window on the Layout tab.
3. Save the shortcut checking Modify the shortcut that started ....

Remove the pause.

If I understand your question, the problem is that you are using the
console window in which the script executes to display output.

One "solution" is "don't do that." My logon script at my company does not
display output in the console window; rather, it displays a dialog box at
the end of the logon process. In my experience, users are more accustomed
to reading the script output if it appears in a Windows dialog than to read
what's happening in the console window (which often is automatically
minimized anyway, as you have observed).

Bill
