Hi,

I have two win2000 DC in one domain.

When I bring DC1 down no one can logon, until I start the server again

Both of them are a global catalog server.

Any idea what I should do?

Are both DCs SRV records registered in DNS? If you can provide an ipconfig
/all and let us know what your AD DNS domain should show as, that can give
us a start in diagnosing this for you.

Thanks!

If your DC1 is acting as the DNS server and you don't have a secondary
DNS server your clients may not be able to locate a valid Domain
Controller. I would recomend placing DNS on your second DC and make
sure clients have the secondary DNS field filled in on their TCP/IP
properties.
