Logon password failure

I just downloaded the Win XP SP1 update and upon
rebooting, came face to face with the logon screen in
Windows XP on my home computer. It is asking me for my
administrator password -- but I've never set a password
before (I am the sole owner of this computer!). I had it
set up to bypass this window and logon automatically
previously. Despite many password attempts, I continue to
get the message "The password is incorrect. Please retype
your password. Letters in passwords must be typed using
the correct case" until it locks me out." I've tried other
user names instead of Administrator as well. I've tried
clearing either or both the user name and password fields
but no success. How can I log into my now locked out
computer!!? As I write this, one other things comes to
mind. I was messing around with Tweak for XP. On there, it
asked for a user name, domain and password. I thought this
was referring to e-mail and so I entered them -- perhaps
this is causing my problem. However, when I've used the
user name/password I had set for this, it still will not
log me on. Thanks for helping -- any will be greatly
appreciated as my machine is completely worthless sitting
atop my desk as it is!

Thanks. However, I've looked at this support page already
and 1) Do not have a password disk as I've never set a
password before and 2) I am the administrator and have
never set a password so I don't have an "admin. password".
Leaving the field blank has not helped either.

Tony,

We've encountered similar problems when we've taken over support of PC's and
laptops setup by other organisations/directorates (i.e. not knowing the
Administrator password) and used a Linux boot disk to re-set the
Administrator password.

Further details at: http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

Hope this helps...
