Logon hangs, windows 2000 server

hi,
when starting my server it is very slow, stalling at the 'preparing network
connections' screen. when it finally boots, you can type in your password but
it just hangs and goes back to the logon prompt. it sometimes has the message
'the netlogon service cannot be started'. any ideas??
 
Hi,
Is this a domain controller and also check if you receive any error
messages while logging in as local administrator.Check for error messages
in the event viewer.
