After pushing XP SP2 with SUS server, I have on XP Pro machine that did not
accept the SP and wouldn't boot. After uninstalling the SP through safemode
with command prompt, when I try to login either to the domail or localally on
the machine, I get an error that says, Unable to logon the parameter is
incorrect.
Does anyone know how to fix this other than a reimage?

TIA
Eric

I had a problem not long ago installing a video driver. Every boot found new
hardware popped up and I had to reinstall the driver, but everytime I'd get
"the parameter is incorrect" install errors. I had to give Full Permissions
in the registry for my video card for it to work. You might have the same
problem except your permissions have to do with your logon. Sorry I couldn't
be more helpful.

Use the standard troubleshooting for a failed SP2 install. IE, "Safe Mode"
or "Last Known Good Config".

One thing, though - If this is a standard workstation with no critical data
and you have a drive image - would it require less admin overhead to reimage
the drive or troubleshoot the SP2 install?

Thanks to both of you. Safe mode did not work as I couldn't log on, but the
last known good did work.
