logon dialog box delay

i have windows 2000 professional. Whenever i start my computer it goes busy
on the logon dialog box. I have checked everything there is no program
running in the background, no virus, no synchronization and no policy. I
don't know why it is taking long. This happens when i get the logon screen
with Administrator written on it and before pressing enter on the screen.

any help!

Thankx!

Take a look at the Event Viewer in Control Panel/Admin Tools.

That would be where you should start, unless you made any recent changes to
your computer or network recently and you didn't have the problem prior to
those changes.

Otherwise, un-change what you changed. Then go from there.
