Logo in Header Gray or Transparent

I want to create a header that has the company logo. It looks fine when I am
in the header view, but as soon as exit back to the main document the logo
appears transparent. Has anyone had this problem or know of a solution?

This is quite normal. Headers and footers will always appear dim when in
print layout view. You will find that your printout will be fine.

Thanks, but most people will be viewing the document on their computer, not
on a printout. Our company standards prohibit us altering the color of our
logo, which would prohibit the use in this format. Any ideas to make it not
appear dim?

To repeat what Rae said, but make it more explicit: If you put the logo in
the header, it _will_ be dimmed except when the header pane is open. There
is no way to change that.

If you can live with the logo being in the body of the document, or in a
text box anchored in the body, then it won't be dimmed -- but then it will
be too easy to move it or delete it accidentally.

The truth is that Word's current design often doesn't deal well with
documents that aren't intended to be printed on paper. Maybe in another
version or two...

Thanks. I hoping there would be a better way.

If the document is merely to be viewed or printed save it in PDF format -
for which you will need third party software.

I think the only question should be:
Is the logo printed well on paper?
The quality of the printed logo does not depend on placing the logo in
the document instead of the header.
For the quality or visibility in a pdf it doesn't either.

The OP specifically stated that the document was primarily for viewing on
screen - the quality of the *printed* logo is therefore largely irrelevant.
